Ei rāvenga nāku i te tuatua i tōku reo Māori Kūki ’Āirani ka anoano au i te turuturu ā tōku ngutu`are tangata `ē te matakeinanga
An encouraging home and community environment is what I need to build my love and my confidence to speak my reo Māori Kūki ’Āirani
Nau mai hoki mai, welcome back to Room 8. This term we have the blessing to celebrate our brothers and sisters of the Cook Islands.
We have been given a challenge to enter a few videos showing a few simple greetings in te reo Maori Kuki Airani. So this is our entry, excuse the bloopers but it was very funny, for some reason Room 8 gets all shy when a camera is on them.
Navada and Tyrinee
Heuy and Leuy (Roman and Lucas)
Grace and Sabrina
Well, that was a mission but we got there, Ahakoa he iti, he pounamu,
Its been a great week for room 8 and for Rongomai Primary. We got to celebrate the beauty of our Samoan Culture.
Matua Lui and Whaea Aleena gave each class a word for the week, so room 8 got the word Ainga, which means whanau, or family. What a blessing that was because we are all about aiga at Rongomai. So here is some of our work for the week.
Word for the week...
Come to Rongomai on Tuesday or Aso Lua to celebrate with us. 11.30am nau mai haere mai.
What an awesome day!!!
Room 8 celebrating our last week with Natalie and Trevant. All the best from Room 8.
